Up for sale is my 1987 Dodge Raider with 91k original miles and a clean carfax. The Raider is just a rebadged Mitsubishi Montero and is 100% Mitsubishi made. This Raider is in excellent condidton mechanically and cosmetically. It was repainted at some point in its life prior to my ownership. I have put a little over 10k miles on it the last year and she has been perfectly reliable even with the extreme cold winter we had. I drive her daily so the mileage of 91,459 will keep going up.
Everything works as it should and the A/C is very cold. 4wd system works perfectly in high and low. The 3spd automatic is in perfect working order and shifts as it should. The 2.6 Mikuni carbed engine runs great and will get you where you need to go. Maybe not the fastest but it’s reliable. I have been in other 2.6 raiders which are even slower due to people not tuning the carb correctly. By no means is this a sports car but it will do 65-70 on the highway. The 31″ BFG all terrains are in good shape up front ( some cupping ) and great on the rear. The spare has plenty of tread too.
In the last year I have replaced front brake pads, shocks, exhaust ( oem cat back ), starter, ignition switch, spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, air filter, fuel filter and the vacuum diaphragm to open the the second barrel of the carb. I have a brand new catalytic converter that comes with the sale. Also included are factory service manuals.
The raider is very rare and not many survived rust. This one was originally from Colorado and has zero rust underneath and only has a small spot on the rear fender and rear bumper which I will be addressing this week. The drivers side tail light is cracked and a new one is on order from the cyclist who hit the truck while parked on my street.
I will not respond to ridiculous low ball offers ( but willing to negotiate ) or joy riders so please do not waste my time. I want this truck to go to someone who knows and appreciates the Raider and 80’s short wheelbase 4X4’s. I have only seen 2 Raiders in better condition in the last few years. This one is by far the nicest one for sale at the moment.
